Send the messy version. We can sort out the shape from there.

You do not need a polished scope document. A few sentences about what feels slow, manual, outdated, confusing, or hard to explain is enough to start.

Start with the problem

Tell me what is not working, even if the project shape is still unclear.

Email is the simplest first step. It keeps the conversation direct, gives you room to explain the messy parts, and avoids forcing the project into a rigid intake form too early.

A useful first note can be short

  • What work feels slower or messier than it should?
  • Who has to use the current website, tool, report, or process?
  • What would be easier if this worked better?

What happens after that

  • I read for the real pain point, not for a perfect project brief.
  • If it looks like a fit, I suggest a small next step in plain language.
  • If it is not a fit, I will say so before you spend serious money.

Email-first by design

Send a short note directly, and include the rough details.

A plain description is enough to start. I will reply by email so we can decide whether the next step should be a short call, a small review, or a clearer project outline.

Helpful details to include:

  • What feels slow, manual, outdated, confusing, or hard to explain.
  • The kind of organization, team, or workflow involved.
  • Any timing, deadline, or next decision that matters.
